Role Summary:

Utility Solutions: Commercial & Industrial

Responsible for project planning, client management, team coordination, monitoring and reporting progress, and directing team efforts as necessary to successfully implement utility energy efficiency programs

Role Description

  • Responsible for major program components including recruitment, scheduling, field activities, data management, forecasting, market research, and internal/external reporting
  • Accountable for accurate tracking of the program’s budgets, keep management apprised of expected deviations between performance and goals
  • Develops, documents and continuously improves program processes
  • Analyzes datasets to discern patterns and identify opportunities for process and program improvement
  • Drives efficiency among the team
  • Corresponds with clients in via phone, e-mail, and in-person. Attends client meetings and represents Ecova at off-site events
  • Prepares and delivers reports, presentations and webinars, and oversees the preparation of reports by other team members
  • Effectively communicates with—and coordinates the activities of—matrixed team members (engineers, marketing, energy managers, IT, finance), subcontractors, program participants, and utility customers
  • Acts as first point of contact for customer escalation issues
  • Performs QC of utility data as needed
  • Supports Program Manager as required, including preparing client communication and internal Ecova reporting
  • Participates in webinars addressing relevant energy & sustainability topics as directed by the clients
  • Performs related work as required and directed by Program Manager


Role Competencies

  • Four-year college degree required
  • 4+ years of efficiency industry experience working on utility programs
  • Proven success managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and indeterminate deadlines
  • Utility efficiency programs – Overall structure and function
  • Project management expertise
  • Business communication
  • Expert MS Excel and Word skill level required
  • MS Project, Visio , SharePoint and PowerPoint experience a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented, flexible, adaptable and self-motivated
  • Skill in motivating the actions of others
  • Demonstrated success working on matrixed teams a plus
  • Ability to model professionalism in challenging situations

Cardno ENTRIX is seeking a Senior Hydropower Engineer in our Concord, CA office.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

> Overall project management
> Day to day communications with clients
> Scope development and cost estimating
> Guidance and coaching of junior staff and task management on more complex projects.
> Development of final design contract documents (plans and specifications) and reports
> Construction phase services for dam-related work
> Coordination with other offices and business lines on projects and pursuits
> Client Interaction, proposal development and business development

Minimum Requirements:

> BS and CA PE in civil, hydraulic, geotechnical or structural engineering, MS preferred.
> Ten or more years of dam, penstock, gate, and hydraulic structure design
> Proficiency with FERC and DSOD regulatory requirements and processes
> Experience with analysis and design evaluations for new dams, dam rehabilitations, and dam appurtenances
> Experience doing feasibility studies, permitting, and regulatory review process
> Experience doing development and management of work plans - scope, schedule, and budget
> Experience building successful project teams; including mentoring, training, and supervision of team members

 Desired Qualifications:

> FERC Part 12 Dam Safety Inspection experience
> PFMA facilitation
> Familiarity with FERC Risk Informed Decision Making process
> PMP certification
> Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks and projects with tight deadlines
> Ability to work independently
> Positive, flexible team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
> Self-motivated, strong initiative; effective oral and written skills
> Detail oriented, resourceful
