Senior Test Engineer - Renewable Energy

Description:
The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for full design validation and qualification of new and existing products by using sophisticated, automatic characterization test systems. In addition you will implement tooling and automation along with best practices to improve overall testing effectiveness and efficiency, mentor test technicians, and lead cross functional teams in continuous improvement lean / six sigma activities. Familiarity with PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) would be a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced test engineering practices to solve complex technical problems across all platforms.
- Design and implement manual and automated technologies, tools, and process testing effectiveness and repeatability.
- Review and analyze architectures, designs and requirements for validity with emphasis towards product testability, and identifying defects early in the release process.
- Analyze, isolate, report and track defects found during testing.
- Evaluation, budgeting, and selection of test platforms, equipment, and software.
- Performing and recording (documentation) of qualification test results of new and existing products related to compliance of specification.
- Performance of qualification tests, characterization measurements and environmental simulations.
- Configuration, upgrade and maintenance of test systems and instruments.
- Adhere to ISO 9000 quality system and environmental requirements.
- Responsible for periodical calibration of all relevant measurement instruments to meet the quality standards.

Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5 to 7 years of Electronics test and design experience.
- Experience in tests and measurements of power electronic.
- Experience testing and developing solutions in an agile methodology.
- Skilled in detail bug reporting and problem analysis.
- First hand automated test development for complex high power AC to DC power inverters is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and communications skills are needed, as well as an ability to collaborate and work well within both a team environment and independently.
