Job Opportunity:
The Technical Sales Engineer will help grow company sales by effectively communicating
our value and competitive advantages to our customers and prospective customers on a
consistent basis. Our highly technical products require an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER or
MECHANICAL ENGINEER to guide our customers, who are wholesale distributors located
throughout the world, on the many applications our products are used with and for.
Interested candidates will travel worldwide about 20% of the year visiting our customers
who distribute our products, representing company at industry trade shows and conferences
and conducting customer training programs. In addition to our technical support team, this
position also handles direct phone calls and emails from customers providing both tech
support and relevant sales support as needed.
An Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer interested in the renewable energy field
will have a role in bringing concerns, issues and ideas from our wide customer base to our
engineering design team. Our Sales Engineer will be continually learning in this position
as they communicate the value of our emerging and existing products along with our Sales
team, all Electrical Engineers. We continue to evaluate new and prospective customers,
especially in the off-grid markets where company products are best-suited. This is a
salaried position with each of our Sales Engineers supporting individual accounts, relying
on an overall team effort for customers with bids or projects that develop over
time.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in technical sales
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Self-starter with ability to work equally well independently or with a small team
- Ability to travel 20% of the year worldwide
- Motivated, high energy and good with people
- Has a keen interest in technology and renewable energy
- Experience presenting technical sales information in a live seminar environment
- Solid general knowledge of computer technology and the web
Skills Desired:
- Fluency in second language preferred but not required.
- Passion for solar energy and the field of renewable energy
- Entrepreneurial, likes small companies, can thrive in a less structured, low overhead
environment

Responsibilities:
- Reactive and proactive sales initiatives via phone and email from our PA business
office, as well as on-site at customer locations worldwide
- Identify new market/product opportunities and market trends
- Provide competitive analysis as needed
- Attend industry trade shows
- Conduct customer training programs both in-person and via webinars
- Create power point presentations and technical sales documents
