displays and enterprise software solutions Comverge provides the industry energy
management solutions on a broad scale. Comverge utilizes the latest in leading wireless
technology like ZigBee® as part of their peak load management programs. Comverge has
more than 500 Utility customers and nearly 2,500MWs under management.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer, Executive to join our
Sales team in the Baltimore, MD area.
Position Description
The individual in this position is responsible for selling Demand Response
(“DR”) and Energy Management (“EM”) related services to targeted
Commercial and Industrial (“C&I”) prospects. The Sales Executive will use
a consultative sales approach to develop long-term customer relationships to maximize
revenues and profits.
• Develop and close new business opportunities in the region
• Develop and implement an overall plan to grow Comverge’s customer base
through the development of business relationships with direct C&I prospects and
targeted alliance relationships.
• Utilize his/her existing network and relationships, and build new relationships to
secure contracts with facility owners and operators and marketing partners to generate
annual profitable revenue targets.
• Market and execute contracts with electric consumers who are capable of modifying
their operations that serves Comverge’s programs.
• Assist in negotiating contracts for energy management related services with
prospective customers.
• Establish a clear and effective transition plan for new customers to become fully
integrated into Comverge’s operations.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or
Engineering, or related field with a consistent and proven track record of successfully
closing business. The successful candidate will also possess the following:
• Minimum of 5 - 6 years of energy, energy services, DR and EM related work
experience, at least 3 of which involve selling into Channels and direct
business-to-business sales
• Established network of business related contacts
• Analytical and problem solving skills; specifically, the ability to apply technical
knowledge to solve complex customer business problems
• Aptitude for energy systems
• Working knowledge of financial analysis activities
• Leadership skills and experience

For this position, Comverge is seeking aggressive, self-confident, self-motivated
individuals with a strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to people at all
organizational levels internally and externally. The successful candidate must demonstrate
flexibility, good listening skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage
multiple priorities. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are required along
with the ability to effectively position Comverge products and value propositions within
the context of the customer’s business.
