Description
Itron has an immediate opening for an Applications Engineer in Waseca, MN. The key focus
of this role will be to analyze and determine engineering modifications and changes needed
to fulfill customer requirements for gas measurement products. The position requires the
ability to work with the Marketing department on necessary changes, by conveying detailed
knowledge of Itron's products from technical and functional standpoints. The Application
Engineer serves as a vital link that connects engineering, marketing, and customer service
with the end customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to meet customer expectations
- Coordinate regular product return meetings and provide follow-up minutes to
management team
- Act as marketing liaison for engineering change requests
- Provide coordination of applied product development with Engineering and
Operations personnel
- Responsible for laboratory product testing
- Review product literature for changes needed
- Development of product advertising, marketing, and technical brochures
- Work with customers and engineers to provide statistical expertise for diverse
applications, including: distribution fitting, exploratory data analyses, regression and
correlation analyses, control charts, capability analysis, simulation studies, etc.
- Design data collection plans, ensure proper data collection, conduct the
appropriate analyses, and document all results.
- Provide technical support to customers and sales personnel
- Support training program development
- Perform training in Waseca, MN and on-site at utility locations
- Support sales training sessions
- Communicate customer feedback to the Product Line Manager and manufacturing
personnel to assure compatibility of the product line with market applications
Qualifications
Experience: This position requires up to 1 year of previous related professional
experience additional knowledge of metering end-points, gas or process control industries
would be a plus
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
Travel: 1 - 10%
