Description

Itron seeks highly motivated Application Engineers with a solid mix of a technical/engineering background with a marketing interest to provide technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of Itrons hardware/firmware systems. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. validation. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

•  Provide technical support for designated hardware and firmware systems.
•  Provide technical response for requests for quotations.
•  Conduct pre sales product presentations.
•  Provide product specific training.
•  Create and update necessary technical literature, Application papers and Application Specific Training.
•  Provide competitive product and system analysis and Market Research.
•  Assist in product development and internal firmware testing.
•  Travel as needed to assist Sales force, domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

Experience: Requires 1 year experience in communication networks, wireless networks or IP networks and additional experience in ZigBee, mesh networks and concepts of hardware/firmware systems would be a plus.
Education: BS in Engineering Required - Computer or Electrical Engineering fields preferred
Certifications:
Travel Requirements: 10 - 30%
