Description
This is a dynamic opportunity for a Senior Accountant to work with a U.S. Global Public

position is an integral part of Software Operations Group within Itron, Inc., with primary
responsibility for facilitating and completing monthly close procedures and deliverables.
The Senior Accountant will analyze and interpret accounting transactions, records and
reports in accordance with GAAP including preparation and review of journal entries for
month-end accruals, amortization and other accounting transactions. Responsible for
balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of month-end supporting schedules. This
position will assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and analyze and report
on variances. Assist and support the budgeting process for Software Operations with
emphasis on monthly and quarterly forecast cycles. Budgeting and forecasting of revenue,
costs and operating expenses and help develop schedules, tools and databases to improve
financial forecasting and increase efficiency. Maintain proactive working relationships
within Software Operations Group and with cross-functional organizations on an ongoing
basis. Participate in quarterly reviews and annual audit with internal and external
auditors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures within established close
deadlines.
- Prepare, review and/or record month-end accruals, amortization and miscellaneous
journal entries.
- Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of month-end
supporting schedules.
- Prepare financial statements and perform monthly, quarterly and year-end analytics
against actual, forecast and budget.
- Help standardize analysis and reporting across groups.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting of revenue, costs and operating
expenses.
- Support annual budget process as well as monthly and quarterly forecast
cycles.
- Provide support to Software Operations Group for accounting and forecasting
needs.
- Help develop tools to improve financial forecasting and increase efficiency.
- Assist with creation, automation and maintenance of forecasting databases.
- Maintain accounting records and reports on a timely, accurate, and consistent
basis in accordance with GAAP, company policy and Close Calendar.
- Prepare and submit PBC's to Itron External Reporting for quarterly reviews and
annual audit. Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audit with internal and external
auditors.
- Assist with monthly Bookings, Backlog and Backlog Rollout for Software
revenue.
- Assist in documentation and testing of SOX controls related to Software Operations
Group.
- Identify and strategize the implementation of process improvements in current and
future accounting systems.
- Maintain pro-active working relationships within Software Operations Group and
with cross-functional organizations.
- Perform special projects as requested by Controller and Assistant
Controller.

- Experience with Oracle 11.i or Oracle R12 and Hyperion a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required, emphasis in accounting highly
preferred.
- Big 4 experience and/or public company experience in a software technology company
is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a public accounting firm or corporate financial
analyst or accounting role required, 5+ years preferred.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- CPA Preferred.
