Description
Itron is seeking dynamic Sr Product Manager to focus on electric utility advanced
distribution operation applications targeted at the rapidly evolving Smart Grid market.
The role develops specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or
product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the
competitive arena. Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace.
Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs.
Establishes pricing strategies. Works with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop
new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
- Handle pre and post-sales product requests.
- Develop accurate pre and post-sales documents and tech notes.
- Handle competitive analysis.
- Determine root causes of any issues.
- Define product strategy and product objectives.
- Plan transitions.
- Present plans to senior management.
- Maintain 3 year forecasts and business plans.
- Play a key role as the business process expert and customer advocate with the
product they support.
- Work closely with customers, prospects and marketing to define product
requirements for new products.
- Write and update product requirements documents for new products.
- Work closely with engineers on detailed designs, functional specifications,
project management, and testing.
- Support our worldwide sales team by giving product presentations to potential
customers.
- Work with marketing, training, and installation to develop various product-related
documents including marketing collateral, help documentation, and instructional
materials.
- Provide support to our professional services team on customer
implementations.
- Present and promote Itron product offerings at trade shows and other industry
events.
- Monitor work flow and deadlines.
- Provide leadership and coaching to staff.
Qualifications
- Experience: This position requires a minimum of 12+ years experience in the
electric utility power engineering and/or electric distribution automation/management
market with either a utility or related application provider: Post-graduate coursework may
be required
- Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Certification(s): MBA preferred
- Travel: 50 - 70%
