As a Sustaining Engineer, based out of our Boston, MA. office, your primary objective will
be to maintain and support EnerNOC's energy management platforms that contain J2EE
Software as a Service applications. Previous experience in debugging and trouble-shooting
coupled with your ability for quick turnaround times will allow you to address customer
issues in Platform and Application areas under tight time constraints.
Position Detailed Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple, high priority and visibility issues simultaneously and effectively
lead problems to their resolution
• Report meaningful Metrics on product quality trends, release status and team
performance by creating and maintaining a Sustaining Dashboard
• Effectively handle the pressure of a 24x7 organization
• Provide technical leadership to identify root cause and potential problem
resolution
• Create, Review, enhance and accept proposed code modifications, test plans, test
execution etc.
• Audit all code changes and test execution to insure end product quality
• Manage critical merges to reduce risk of parallel development efforts concurrent
with problem resolutions
• Create and maintain release organization processes and policies
• Interact with project leads, Development Managers and Project Managers to maintain
process consistency and resolve issues
Required Skills:
• Strong Leadership and written/verbal communication skills
• Implementation of Sustaining Metrics and automated Dashboards
• Self-motivated, proactive Software Engineer with a passion for quality,
problem-solving and a customer-centric focus
• Experience providing technical direction to cross-functional teams and validating
the quality and completeness of solutions
• Good planning and scheduling experience in the investigation and resolution of
issues
• Ability to create and follow documented procedures accurately
• Extensive experience in Java, JBoss, Flex, Apache, Linux, Oracle for designing and
maintaining large systems software
• Familiarity with VMware, EMC Storage and Networking
Education and Experience:
• BS/MS in Computer Science
• 5-8 years in Sustaining roles with leadership responsibilities and overall 10+
years of Software Engineering experience
