Job Details:
Tooling Composites and Prototyping Team
The Tooling Composites and Prototyping team is responsible for delivering innovative and
robust composite tooling solutions for the manufacture of the next generation of wind
turbine blades. This responsibility includes prototyping of development tools, manufacture
of ‘proof of concept’ and demonstrator test pieces, as well as design of
production tooling.
An opportunity now exists for a Composite Tooling Specialist to compliment the skills of
the existing Tooling Composites and Prototyping Team.
Responsibilities and tasks
• Lead the design process of composites for tooling technology and prototyping
• Offer guidance, support and coaching to ensure the best design concept is chosen
• Ensure integration of systems and interfaces
• Take ownership of system requirements
• Maintain the quality of the composite design and processes
• Develop new design solutions for future products
• Ensure design reviews are cross functional and involve the supply chain
• Supervision of tests and analysis of test data to verify designs
• Take ownership of FMEA within the area of composite tooling
• Preparation and review of design and process documentation
• Delivery of composite tooling to projects
• Technical mentoring to engineers and technicians
Qualifications and work experience
• Minimum BSc mechanical/structural design within composites
• Significant knowledge of structures and composites (FEA advantage)
• Strong understanding of composite processing and manufacturing methods
• Tool design for composite part manufacture
• Heating/cooling system design
• Engineering management experience (advantage)
• Well-rounded engineering knowledge
• Proven track record of creative and innovative approach
• Excellent analytical skills, use of Root Cause Analysis/D-FMECA Techniques
• Design for six sigma (IDOV) or operational six sigma (DMAIC) green belt
qualification
• Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills

Additional information
The primary work location is Lem, Denmark, although overseas travel is a likely part of
