The Job:

i-LAB is a business unit that coordinates its research and development activities aiming at short and medium term evolutions of our clients consultancy and software services. Amongst others, i-LAB performs R&D on the value of power from renewables and how this can be increased for society and for the energy market. This can be done by integrating distributed generation and flexible demand into so-called virtual power plants.



We are looking for an Expert in Power Systems & Energy Markets to reinforce this team. You will lead R&D targeting the development of virtual power plant services. S/he will work together with the other team members and with technical experts from the consultancy and products units.



Responsibilities:

•Techno-economic analysis and modelling of power system concepts and innovation strategies, optimising the value of renewable electricity in the portfolio’s of clients in operational services.

•Follow-up and participate in international relevant R&D projects in order to translate R&D project results in added value for the companies products and services.

•Manage R&D projects including end-to-end project administration: planning, realisation, coordination, cost control as well as relationships with internal clients, partners and suppliers

•Manage delivery of high-quality project outputs within time and budget



Profile:

•Master degree in power engineering or energy economics, or similar through experience

•Minimum 4 years relevant work experience with involvement in R&D

•Strong interest in energy strategy and renewable energies

•Willing to travel abroad for short-term missions

•High sense of responsibility and professional attitude

•Analytical, capable of writing high quality reports

•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Strong organisational capabilities, able to function autonomously as well as within a team

•Flexible, adaptable, good team worker

•Eager learner

•Fluent in English, knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset







Location:

The offices are located near St Catherine (Brussels City Centre).
