The Job:

The position will be part of the iLab team. In a dynamic environment, you work on large-scale international innovation projects in the field of wind energy.



Set up a mesoscale meteorological model for a domain covering the Belgian North Sea

Run and validate the model for against wind measurement campaign data

Optimize the model for wind data quality

Generate test cases wind data for existing off-shore wind farms

Generate a wind atlas on the model domain

This project may require short-term secondments to a partner university in Europe.



In addition, you will provide expert meteorological advice to the Wind consultancy team.



Detailed simulation and analysis of farm layouts

Meteorological modelling

Interest for renewable energy, and more specifically wind energy technology



Profile:



Master in physics, atmospheric sciences or renewable energy (with focus on wind energy)

Minimum 5 years relevant experience



Skills:



Experience with mesoscale modelling

Experience in dealing with statistical data

Good project management skills

Pragmatic and solution-oriented

Able to work on details while keeping an helicopter view on the project

Curious, eager and capable to learn fast

Able to work both in teams and autonomously

Fluent in English plus French/Dutch. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset

The offices are located near St Catherine (Brussels City Centre).
