Travel Requirement: occasional need to travel to our other offices, including international travel.

Role Purpose
Our client is the world's largest independent technical and engineering consultancy for renewable energy. They are the recognised global authority on onshore and offshore wind power and also serve the wave, tidal and solar sectors.

Working as part of a global team to provide local IT technical support for the Beijing office. The support will be for 30+ colleagues for both Onshore & Offshore projects.

Daily maintenance and troubleshooting of the IT hardware (PCs, copiers, printers, telephone router, VPN router etc).

Maintain the MS Windows domain
Provide technical support for MS Office, and issue necessary working instructions.
Maintain the file server and run the back up.
Maintain the computer and telephone network, including administration of payment.
Support the company in providing and researching IT solutions for the office.
Provide regular updates to the IT Manager in Bristol, UK.
Escalation of issues to third party companies as appropriate.
Any other tasks assigned by the manager, eg assisting office admin where necessary.
Work with and escalate issues to appropriate IT support teams located around the world.

Person Specification
To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise
Highly proficient in MS Windows domain and Office.
Familiar to configuration of network and TCP/IP.
Tape backup system using BackupExec software.
Experience in a similar office supporting 30~50 users.
An upper second class degree and MCSE and CCNA would be preferred.
Competency Requirements
Fluent in English and Chinese, and English report writing capabilities.
Able to act quickly and effectively under pressure.
The ability to plan and organize own workload.
The client has offices all over the globe. Employees are predominantly technical and represent a variety of engineering disciplines.
