Senior Engineer Electrical Projects – Wind Farm & Solar PV (based in Oldenburg or Hamburg, Germany), ref 1107-38

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel

Role Purpose:
Our client is the world's largest independent technical and engineering consultancy for renewable energy and recognised as the global authority on onshore and offshore wind power and also serving the wave, tidal and solar sectors.

To enhance the team, we are searching for a Senior Engineer to work in the Oldenburg or Hamburg office.

Responsibilities include:

Providing local electrical expertise.
Liaising with a wide range of clients, from wind farm developers to financial institutions.
PV Due Diligence analysis.
Working on multiple projects and managing own time to meet deadlines.
Managing the complete project lifecycle.
Producing tender proposals (including technical and financial aspects).
Managing the project work to ensure delivery of the scope, on time and on budget.
Closing out the work, ensuring the client is satisfied with the work and has been appropriately invoiced.
Undertaking preliminary design work, and liaising with the main electrical team for more detailed analysis.
Undertaking grid connection analysis and formal requests.
Technically reviewing electrical financial / commercial information.
Reviewing electrical documentation relating to wind farm design.
Construction of electrical works.
Operation and Maintenance, including H&S documents.
Solar project design.
Producing written reports and other documentation for delivery to the client.
Producing and delivering presentations, to clients and as part of commercial training courses.
Providing technical advice, directly to clients and to other parts of the group.
Leading electrical front-end engineering studies of offshore wind farms, requiring liaison with colleagues working in other project disciplines (cable burial, wind turbines, structural design).
Working within client teams on offshore wind farm projects, in the role of electrical package manager.
Liaising with industry suppliers, managing bidding processes, and providing critical bid assessment.
Undertaking site inspections of electrical works, and witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests.
Performing due diligence for clients.
Supporting the continuous improvement of the electrical quality documentation.
Team-building, supervising and mentoring of staff.
Participate in R&D projects from time-to-time.
Any other appropriate duties, as directed by line management.

Person Specification:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise
Hold an appropriate degree/higher degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, or be able to demonstrate equivalent education, training and personal development.
Significant practical commercial experience in undertaking electrical project engineering.
Familiarity with local regulations and procedures / processes.
Ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in German and English.
Familiar with working to international standards, national rules, and certification body requirements.
Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite packages.
Experience working within the distribution or transmission network industry.
Commercial experience working within the renewables industry.
Previous experience of supervising / mentoring staff.
Membership of professional body and chartered engineer status.
Health and Safety training.
Experience of working on-site, particularly as an authorised person.
Ability to work in additional languages.
