Position: Senior Salesforce Leader
Description:
This is a new role for my client, which is increasing its focus on Salesforce.com as a
critical tool for long-term, strategic CRM and for more efficient firm operations. The
Senior Salesforce Leader is responsible for leading all aspects of their Salesforce,
including an initial project to integrate and optimize two distinct Salesforce instances
within our 300-person professional services organization. This individual will form a deep
understanding of their marketing, communications, thought, leadership, public relations,
sales, and partner delivery models, and develop a strategic plan for updating Salesforce
to support their key business objectives. This individual will interact directly with
colleagues throughout all areas of the business, and will be responsible for overseeing
any analysts, consultants, or third party vendors who may support the internal integration
project or the day-to-day operations of the Salesforce system and associated plugins. The
candidate should have a proven track record of successfully designing and activating
enterprise-wide Salesforce strategies. Experience with people-driven, professional
services firms a plus.

Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Ownership of Salesforce.com
Act as the primary business owner of Salesforce.com for them, responsible for all
strategic and financial oversight of the Salesforce function
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with senior leaders of the organization to ensure
that Salesforce supports the strategic priorities of the organization
- Work closely with Enlistment and Marketing colleagues to enhance the firm’s
understanding of partner segments and relationship life cycles
- Collaborate with their solutions leaders to develop perspectives on capabilities that
can be used to assess the progress and quality of the firm’s contracted projects and
client service
- Research, develop, and gain buy-in for a long-term CRM strategy for the organization,
taking into account immediate integration and optimization needs (first 1-2 months)
- As part of the strategy development process, determine: which existing Salesforce
configurations and processes should be kept; which should be improved upon; which should
be replaced; and what new capabilities / processes should be added
- Additionally, the candidate’s strategy should include: a detailed implementation
roadmap with logical sequencing of changes to be made / functionality to be added; a
detailed budget; detailed staffing / training requirements
Project Management
- Direct the first phase of strategy implementation, including: integration, optimization,
and stress-testing (estimated to be at least 6 months)
- Oversee ongoing implementation, regular updates, and new functionality which may be
layered into the system after the initial integration/optimization phase
- Oversee a program of regular reporting and insight-gathering to ensure that Salesforce
continues to support year-to-year business goals as well as a long term trajectory of
impact and adoption in the marketplace and permits qualitative analytics on our
performance against sales and strategic market growth objectives
- Supervise any analysts, consultants, or third party vendors necessary to support
advanced Salesforce development or implementation
- Plan and oversee the execution of all data conversion activities from the two existing
instances of Salesforce
- Oversee data quality initiatives and testing on ongoing basis after integration
activities are complete
Support & Training
- Act as the on-site, go-to person for colleagues with important strategic, technical, or
adoption-related questions related to Salesforce
- Create and oversee an ongoing user training and adoption program and provide
accountability mechanisms where appropriate to help achieve the overall strategy
Research
- Stay on top of industry best practices and new developments in Salesforce than can
improve the business or can drive more value with partners and prospects
