Job Description:
The Channel Sales Manager’s primary responsibility will be to, first, sell and
market to end use C&I customers (greater than 50kW) through indirect and direct sales
strategies then, secondly, enhance existing relationships and develop new ones with
aggregators, brokers and consultants (“ABCs”) and end use customers in order
to attain the region’s growth and renewal targets. The position will require sales,
problem solving, communication, and marketing skills. Some cold calling will be required
from time to time. The job will require some travel throughout Texas and, on occasion, to
New York
Core Responsibilities:
1. Originate new business and renew existing customer contracts consistent with the
region’s overall sales strategy and goals
2. Participate in the development of the region’s sales strategies and goals
3. Provide feedback to management and internal operational support personnel regarding our
products, services, pricing, etc.
4. Assist with the development and implementation of products and services to be used to
attain the company’s sales objectives and goals
Decision Making/Latitude:
Responsible for deal-making within pre-determined guidelines independently of
management’s involvement. If deals are outside pre-determined guidelines, upon
notice, management will get involved in such deals when appropriate and meets the
business’ sales goals and objectives.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required
Experience and Skills:
- 3+ years of direct or indirect sales or marketing of energy commodity/services or
related commodity/services.
- Innovative dealmaker who develops profitable solutions to complex problems in highly
competitive, fast paced markets
- Ability to develop and refine appropriate sales strategies for each key account
opportunity
- Basic understanding of risks and drivers of the non-regulated retail business
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to create and nurture strong relationships with key individuals within the
marketplace
- Keen perception of business risks and rewards
- Team player
- Strong drive and initiative coupled with a professional image
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical and computer skills
- Entrepreneurial and energetic
- Ability to understand and utilize business systems used in sales process:
SalesForce.com® a plus; Microsoft® Office Suite Products (Word® and
Excel®) are a must; and other proprietary systems will be utilized as well
- You must be eligible to work in the US independent of company sponsorship
